Hiking Experience Schladming Dachstein
Hiking Tip "1": Obertal-Dusitzkarsee-Rotmandlspitze-Giglachsee-Ursprungsalm
Rotmandlspitze: from Ursprungalm to Eschachalm!
A summit tour in the historic mining area of the Schladminger Tauern with beautiful views of the Giglach lakes and the Duisitzkarsee. This alpine summit hike takes you first along the historic Roman road from Ursprungalm to the Giglachsee hut.
Passing the Ignaz-Mattis-Hütte and the Giglachsee, you will then ascend from the historic mining area in the Vetternkar over rubble and, in early summer, sometimes snow fields, to the summit of the Rotmandlspitze - spectacular views into the Giglachkar and Vetternkar guaranteed! From there, descend via the Krukeckscharte and the Keinprechthütte into the Obertal valley to the Eschachalm.
The highlights along the tour include the historic Roman road, the high alpine Giglach lakes and the miners' lakes in the Vetternkar, as well as the crossing of the Rotmandlspitze. On the way down from Keinprechthütte, you will then walk through the beautiful alpine landscape of the Neualmkar.

Hiking Tip "2" to the Spiegelsee!
TOP SPIEGELSEE - Cozy - Easy - Scenic!
Enjoy the unique landscape! Start the short mountain hike from the parking lot at the Gasselhöh-Hütte. Follow trail No. 66 into the forest towards Spiegelsee.
Enjoy a leisurely hike along the wide trail that runs along the ridge between Rippetegg and Gasselhöhe. After 45 minutes, you'll reach the picturesque Spiegelsee, and a few minutes further you'll find the Obersee.
Why Spiegelsee? The majestic Dachstein reflects on the surface of the water. A sea of flowers and plants decorates the hiking path!
Hiking Tip "3" Steirische and Lungauer Kalkspitze via the Kranzl
In the midst of the Schladminger Tauern, shaped by ancient rock, the Steirische Kalkspitze and Lungauer Kalkspitze rise up. The breathtaking view of the opposite limestone region of the Dachstein massif is well worth the effort.
The landscape is naturally characterized by limestone rock and sinkholes—a typical karst phenomenon—which is also reflected in the unique flora surrounding the two peaks.
Along the route, you can find the Ursprungalm (at the starting and finishing point) and the Giglachseehütte as rest stops.
